Camp Happy Days Hosts Annual Gala Benefiting Children Battling Cancer

The Heroes of Hope Gala is Camp Happy Days biggest fundraiser of the year
Charleston, SC – Camp Happy Days (CHD), a local Charleston nonprofit, will host The Heroes of Hope Gala on Friday, November 4th at the Memminger Auditorium. The gala, fondly known as the Cabooty Party was started in 1989 by Allan Cabading, a childhood cancer survivor, longtime volunteer and supporter. What started out as a small party at Allan’s home raising money for CHD, has transformed into the largest annual fundraising event for the organization. This November, Camp Happy Days is celebrating the 27th Anniversary of the Cabooty Party, an evening dedicated to help kids kickin’ cancer.

“This year’s Gala will have an amazing array of live and silent auction items,” said CHD Executive Director, Cindy Johnson.

“The Gala Committee and Sponsors have out done themselves in terms of food, drinks and design. I know everyone will have a wonderful time,” said Johnson.

Camp Happy Days has devoted its purpose to providing services to children battling cancer and their families throughout the state of South Carolina with cost free year-round programs and activities. All proceeds of the evening will directly go to Camp Happy Days, so that they can continue to provide aid and resources to young and deserving beneficiaries.

The Heroes of Hope Gala includes a dinner, open bar, live band, and a silent and live auction. The event begins at 7pm, VIP Early Check-in and Auction Previews are available at 6:30. Tickets are $115 per person. Last years gala attracted 350-plus attendees and raised over $165,000. Camp Happy Days is looking forward to this year being the biggest celebration of Cabooty yet.
