“We are excited about the future and continuing growth of our Charleston office and Peter LaMotte’s new leadership role,” said Chernoff Newman President and COO David Campbell. “We will miss Peter Wertimer enormously, but his intentional succession plan will allow our team to make the transition seamlessly and build on the great foundation he put in place over the years.”
In 1999, Wertimer purchased the Advertising Service Agency (ASA), South Carolina’s first advertising agency, which later merged with Chernoff Newman in 2008. Under his tenure, the Lowcountry office has worked with Force Protection Industries, Midlands Technical College, the Charleston County Aviation Authority, Rick Hendrick Imports, the Piggly Wiggly Carolina Co., Pike Electric, the InterTech Group, The Citadel, the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, Trident United Way and more.
LaMotte joined Chernoff Newman in Charleston in 2016, from Washington, D.C. marketing communication agencies. He has more than a decade of experience in digital advertising, crisis communication, brand reputation and marketing.
“Peter Wertimer’s legacy and reputation have given us the platform to work with companies throughout the Southeast, said LaMotte. “I look forward to helping this office continue to expand.”
