GABA LABS HAS LAUNCHED SENTIA SPIRITS IN THE UNITED STATES

Social Drinking for a New Generation of Conscious Consumers

GABA Labs announces the launch of SENTIA Spirits (https://sentiaspirits.com) in the United States. One of the UK and Europe’s leading Functional Drinks SENTIA Spirits are designed to target our GABA receptors. SENTIA addresses the needs of modern consumers moving toward a mindful and health-conscious lifestyle.

According to recent data, there is a noticeable trend of reduced alcohol consumption among people in the United States. The NCS Consumer Sentiment Survey 2024* highlights a significant shift, with over 41% of Americans expressing a conscious effort to drink less. This represents an increase of 7 percentage points from 2023, indicating a growing awareness and intention to modify drinking habits.

Consumers are more informed about their personal well-being than ever before and show increasing preference for alternative choices that align with holistic approaches to health and wellness. The NCS survey found that more than one in three Americans (34%) identify as mindful drinkers.

Today’s search for wellness is disrupting old conventions and reshaping how we coexist on this planet. Fueled by a collective ethos of innovation and inclusivity, new consumers are challenging norms and embracing a paradigm shift in their consumption choices.

David Orren, Co-Founder of SENTIA Spirits, says: “We are excited by the demand for SENTIA in the United States. The enthusiasm and support from US consumers have been truly inspiring. It’s a testament to a brand-new generation of consumers willing to challenge convention to take control over their own lives. In a time of increasing health insecurity, we’re seen a growing trend in self-care.”

Orren continues, “As social beings, getting together to socialize is natural and hugely important. And as consumers, why shouldn’t we be able to get together to socialize whilst also taking care of our health? If science has made this possible, why shouldn’t we get what we want from alcohol, without the alcohol?’”

Combining a wisdom of plants with modern science, SENTIA will enable American adults to enjoy a functional drink that transcends traditional categories, promoting relaxation, balance, and well-being.

SENTIA Spirits is available to buy on Amazon and on the SENTIA Spirits USA website and is priced at $41.75.

SENTIA AND GABA LABS

SENTIA Spirits  (https://sentiaspirits.com), was founded by renowned British neuropsychopharmacologist Professor David Nutt in 2020, to offer consumers a choice beyond alcohol and alcohol-free.

At the heart of SENTIA lies science and innovation. A prominent force for change in the alcohol space for over 20 years, David recognized the need to offer a practical solution for mindful drinkers who understand the benefits of alcohol, but do not want the compromises that come with it.

SENTIA is not just a product; it’s a promise of memorable moments.  Each ingredient has been chosen with care and purpose, combining a complex flavor profile and mouthfeel with bioavailability and function, aligning with SENTIA Spirits’ mission of bringing people together.

WHAT IS GABA?

GABA (or gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a compound found in nearly all life on earth. Whilst GABA has a multitude of functions in the human body, in the brain it acts as a neurotransmitter. GABA acts as a natural break on brain and central nervous system activity, causing feelings of relaxation and calmness, opening the door to a sense of ease in social situations and all the positive benefits such moments bring with them.

SENTIA Spirits are a new generation of alcohol alternatives containing carefully selected blend of GABA enhancing ingredients to promote relaxation and the support of cognitive function.

SENTIA Spirits offer a safer alternative to experience those early sociable effects of alcohol without the compromises alcohol can bring.

The main functions of GABA include:

  • Emotional balance: By modulating brain activity, GABA helps to maintain emotional stability.
  • Sleep regulation: GABA promotes healthy sleep by reducing activity in the central nervous system.
  • Relaxation: GABA calms the brain by reducing excessive neural activity.

Have you been looking for natural, drug-free solutions to help your family with struggles ranging from seasonal allergies, constipation, bedwetting, anxiety, ear infections, or even chronic neurological conditions such as Autism and ADHD? Maybe you’ve tried all the detoxes, supplements, diet changes, natural solutions, and visited all the specialists, but still feel like something is missing and you aren’t getting to the real root cause…

In today’s world, it is not uncommon for parents to leave the doctor’s office feeling unheard and ignored. Lighthouse Family Chiropractic (LFC) is the place where you will feel heard and you will leave with more HOPE and ANSWERS than you walked in with.

Why the Lowcountry Loves Lighthouse Family Chiropractic

Education, Care and Specialization

We are a nervous system focused chiropractic office that specializes mainly in pediatrics and prenatal care, with advanced certifications in helping children with Sensory Processing Disorders. Being a nervous system focused office means we look at the body as a whole and how it relates to overall health. This is our main focus in children who struggle with chronic illness and are always sick, have digestive issues, big emotions, allergies, struggle in the classroom because of sensory challenges, Autism, ADHD, and so much more.  We also specialize in working with moms during pregnancy to allow for optimal pelvic function and the best birth outcomes!

Having a well-regulated nervous system isn’t just for kids and pregnant moms, but all adults! Nervous system dysregulation in adults is very common and can be seen as digestive issues, extreme anxiety, fatigue, ADHD, and more.

Innovative Technology

At LFC, we use state-of-the-art technology called the INSiGHT Scans. With these nervous system scans, we are able to determine whether you or your child have stress stuck within their nervous system and to gauge its severity. Early intervention with drug-free care options, such as Neuro-Tonal Chiropractic adjustments, can effectively address nervous system dysregulation, subluxation, and dysautonomia. These scans are completely safe and offer a non-invasive way to measure nervous system dysregulation in the tiniest of infants to pregnant moms to adults of all ages, in under 15 minutes.

Nervous System Focused Chiropractic Care

LFC is a new leader in the Lowcountry that brings a brand-new perspective to health by focusing on the nervous system. Dr. Devin DiCenzo and Dr. Liv Porpora use their expert level knowledge and training to provide natural, drug-free solutions to families struggling with chronic health conditions that have been labeled as “common” but are certainly not normal! Both Dr. Liv and Dr. Devin trained extensively under the guidance of their mentor, Dr. Tony Ebel, a world class pediatric, prenatal and family chiropractor.  He explains that the rapid rise of chronic health struggles today is from stress within the nervous system that may have started as early as during pregnancy and at birth.

Relationship Driven Patient and Doctor Care

Dr. Devin and Dr. Liv have both seen the life changing results that come from this specific type of care in their own lives. Both doctors dealt with their own struggles such as ADHD and focus issues as children, chronic insomnia, digestive issues, and so much more. It was with neurologically focused chiropractic care that they saw true lasting changes for the first time ever! Dr. Tony’s inspiration and guidance with the Pediatric Experience inspired them both to pursue opening Lighthouse Family Chiropractic in order to best serve the families of the lowcountry community.

It is their mission to be a beacon of HOPE, ANSWERS, and HEALTH to families through nervous system-based chiropractic care.

Bluffton and Port Royal Outpace Charleston in Residential Expansion Over The Last Decade Based on New Study

Residential patterns are shifting, driven by remote workers seeking low-density environments, millennials prioritizing better schools and spacious living, and individuals priced out of expensive cities turning to exurban areas over urban cores.

In fact, our recent study of housing trends in over 4,100 U.S. cities from 2013 to 2022 shows that suburban development is far outpacing urban growth, as once-idle communities are now brimming with new housing options. South Carolina has its own contenders in the race for the fastest-growing housing markets, with Bluffton in the lead.

Here are a few key takeaways from our study:

Bluffton rises as South Carolina’s fastest growing municipality, joined by neighboring Port Royal in third position.

  • Bluffton has grown from a quiet exurb in 2013 to a full-fledged town in 2022. The housing stock doubled during this period, exceeding 11,000 units in 2022.
  • This growth is fueled by a substantial population increase of 126%, the fastest in South Carolina.
  • Bluffton’s newfound popularity has also resulted in significant home price increases, with home values rising by an impressive 80% over the same period.
  • The last decade also marked the beginning of a multifamily housing boom, aiming to accommodate the influx of new residents. Apartment stock tripled from 2013, reaching 764 units by 2022.
  • New housing demand is also supported by the growing remote work trend. The number of people working from home tripled in the last 10 years, growing from 4% in 2013 to 13% in 2022.
  • Port Royal has also joined the growth bandwagon, with its housing inventory increasing by 83% to nearly 5,000 units in 2022.

Fort Mill in York County has also experienced substantial growth.

  • The housing inventory nearly doubled over the last decade, reaching over 9,000 units in 2022.
  • Driven by this housing boom, Fort Mill has seen home prices skyrocket by 114% over the past decade, the highest increase among all the housing markets we analyzed.
  • On a positive note, incomes also surged, doubling during the same period.
  • Additionally, Fort Mill’s self-storage sector expanded by 58%, with most of the inventory built in the last decade (2010-2019).

Greenville and Charleston suburbs take up half of the spots in South Carolina’s top 20 fastest-growing housing markets.

  • In the Greenville metro area, Powdersville saw a 44% increase in housing inventory, while Fountain Inn experienced 35% growth.
  • Similarly, in the Charleston metro area, Moncks Corner’s housing inventory surged by 48% over the past decade, and Mount Pleasant’s inventory grew by 38% during the same period.

Updates include covering important topics like developing smart money habits, the potential benefits of working with a financial advisor, the impact of stress on health and wellness, preparing for taxes, and the use of nonviolent resistance during the Civil Rights Movement.

New and updated resources for the 2024-25 school year include:

  • EVERFI: Financial Literacy for High School® – EVERFI’s flagship financial education resource, used by more than 786,000 students during the 2023-24 school year, teaches students how to make informed financial decisions that promote financial well-being over their lifetime. Updates for the new school year include aligning the program material to more comprehensively meet national and state financial education standards through expanded learning objectives. Additionally, the program includes bite-sized lessons that provide more flexibility for teachers when assigning content, new interactive elements for increased student engagement, and will provide greater accessibility for all learners.
  • Marketplaces: Investing Basics™ – Sponsored in the United States and Canada by Edward Jones, Marketplaces is an introduction to investing and financial markets resource that provides students with an understanding of how markets work while building their confidence to invest toward their future goals. The resource has been updated to focus exclusively on investing, ensuring students feel confident with both the concepts and skills necessary to participate in today’s market. The resource also has additional investing content, including a brand-new lesson where students learn the potential benefits of working with a financial advisor. Additionally, increased interactivity and accessibility have been built out in this updated resource.
  • Tax Simulation: Understanding Taxes™ – The tax simulation developed in partnership with and sponsored nationwide by Intuit for Education, was previously included within EVERFI: Financial Literacy. Educators are now able to access the tax simulation as a standalone resource, providing greater flexibility in sharing this content with students. To enhance and deepen the learning experience, several videos are featured in the resource covering topics like summarizing a 1099 form, calculating tax requirements, and paying for post-secondary education.
  • Healthier Me: Intro to Wellness™ – The reimagined program is replacing EVERFI’s previous elementary and middle school health curricula. It includes new and improved content to align with current National Health Education Standards. By taking a whole-person approach, the learning experience focuses on overall physical, emotional, and social wellness to guide students toward making healthy choices for their whole selves. The program also features increased technical accessibility for learners using assistive technology.
  • 306: Black History – Continuing the Story™– Through a partnership with The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, EVERFI is adding a fifth lesson to the 306 program. Using a first-person narrative, the new lesson looks at the development of the philosophy of nonviolence. Learners will explore connections among the ongoing struggle for civil and human rights in India in the early 1900’s, the use of nonviolent resistance during the Civil Rights Movement, and the use of nonviolence in the present day to confront injustices.

“Our goal is to ensure that the digital resources we are designing and delivering to K-12 schools are not just cutting-edge and innovative, but that they integrate teacher feedback and are aligned with current standards,” said Alice Lee, senior vice president, K-12 implementation at EVERFI from Blackbaud. “These new and updated programs cover a range of critical topics that teachers and students alike have been asking for. We are excited to roll these updates out for the new school year and to be able to support teachers and students across the country.”

In addition to program updates, EVERFI is also rolling out new platform features for the upcoming school year. The platform updates are the direct result of educator feedback obtained during the last school year and are designed to improve functionality, flexibility, and answer calls for increased login options.

New platform features available on the teacher dashboard in the 2024-25 school year include a new Financial Literacy for High School Collection, a program lock/unlock feature for teachers, and the addition of Google Single Sign-On (SSO).

The Financial Literacy for High School Collection makes it easier for educators to provide students with a sequence of financial education content aligned to standards. The Collection is a series of resources that pair well together to more comprehensively address state and national standards and provide an enhanced, cohesive learning experience for students. The resources can be taken in whatever order is most suitable for a teacher’s classroom and learning objectives. Teachers can easily assign these complementary resources through a brand-new “+ Add All to Class” button.

The lock/unlock program feature allows educators to control what resources are visible in their Students’ Dashboards. Teachers can shift a program to “locked” to hide it from students until they are ready to teach the content. They can come back to their My Classes tab when they are ready to “unlock” the program for their students. This new feature offers educators added flexibility and is in response to educators’ requests to have more control over their student’s dashboards and to not overwhelm them with the amount of content they may be assigned to work through.

Lastly, EVERFI is rolling out Google SSO as another option for educators and students to log in during the upcoming school year. This additional login option will provide users with increased ease of access to EVERFI’s learning platform and library of courses.

“Providing teachers with an educational platform that meets their needs and is easy to use is always top of mind for us and the features we are rolling out for the 2024-25 school year are some of the most requested updates from teachers,” said Dan Grace, head of product, EVERFI from Blackbaud. “Both the Collection and lock/unlock features provide teachers greater control and flexibility when assigning programs to students and we’re excited to hear how these platform updates improve the overall experience for both teachers and students.”
