Raising Readers: New program where children read to the animals at the Charleston Animal Society
RAISING READERS
Calling all readers! The shelter environment can be very stressful for our animals. Between the constant flow of new faces, smells, and noises, they could really use a break from all of the commotion. That’s where you come in!
The Charleston Animal Society Raising Readers program, sponsored by Raising Cane’s, provides animals with much-needed quiet time. This interaction gives them time to relax and enjoy a story (they love looking at the pictures)! Animals also make the best judgment-free audience for readers still mastering their skills. Readers of all levels are welcome!
