Two industrial speculative buildings totaling 533,280 s.f. on a 38-acre site

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – Dorchester County Economic Development held a groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week to commence construction on a new commerce center located at 130 Hodge Road in Summerville.  The ceremony, which took place on-site November 15 at 2:00 pm, commemorated the next step in meeting the demands of the rapidly expanding industrial market.

The new commerce center will house two industrial speculative buildings totaling 533,280 square feet and is conveniently positioned to serve as an opportunity for potential distribution or manufacturing companies. Immediately off I-26, the commerce center is centrally located near I-526, I-95, Charleston Port Terminals, and CHS International Airport. Both tilt-up warehouses will feature clear heights at 32 feet, two drive-in doors, 9’x10’ dock doors, loading bays, interior bays, and a total of 514 combined parking spaces. Foundry Commercial Principal and Managing Director Bill Simerville and Michael Cain, Senior Project Manager have applied a lifetime of experience to both the creation and vision of this commerce center as well as the selection of the team.

Edifice is the general contractor and Merriman Schmitt Architects is the architectural firm. Commercial real estate firm Bridge Commercial will be marketing both speculative industrial buildings. Dorchester County Economic Development Director John Truluck states, “We are excited about Foundry’s investment in Dorchester County.  With remarkably high interest from tenants and particularly low building inventory, the addition of these two buildings is a timely welcome.”  Rendering image provided by Merriman Schmitt Architects.

Local Lowcountry Coffee Truck, Hurricane Coffee Company is selflessly giving back to the community in a quiet but profound way

We love our food trucks.

They are convenient, offer diverse selections, complement every festival and event, and are a vital part of our Lowcountry culture.

Sometimes, without us knowing, they are doing a little bit more to give back to the community and show us how much they care.

Local Coffee Truck, Hurricane Coffee Company, known as the “Storm Chaser” is offering support for the homeless, potential victims of human trafficking, and those silently suffering from mental health issues.

On their coffee truck, you will see this sign. It speaks volumes. If you see them parked in Summerville, Goose Creek, or anywhere around the Lowcountry, thank them with a smile, thumbs up, hug, or just that secret wink.
