Congratulations to all the amazing people at The Wreck that share the love of coastal dining right here in Mount Pleasant.
OMG. You’ve got to be kidding right? Over cooked, over priced greasy fried food served on Styrofoam plates with plastic utensils where the server can’t even remember what you order since you have to fill out your own on a sheet of paper?
I do not think you have been there. First of all there are no styrofoam plates and second of all there are no plastic utensils. The circling of the menu comes from the fact the man who started the restaurant is an attorney. You know attorneys – to the letter of the law. The establishment has been exactly that, an establishment for well over twenty plus years. The seafood is served piping hot, quickly dropped and removed in the hottest of oils. That is why the food is so darn good. Steve this is how we grew up in the lowcountry and this is how we intend to keep it.
Wow! You must have been at the restaurant down the street because this one was superb. No complaints! Food was delicious and what true Seafood is all about….
shows you that these “best lists” mean absolutely nothing. i completely agree with the previous comment. It is an experience to go there for sure….but not because of the food or service.
I had the pleasure of dining there in November while on a visit to my home town. I loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere.
Looking forward to trying this restaurant. That is quite an honor.
I was drawn here by the news article. It is a bare bones kind of place, and the food was served on a paper plate, with plastic utensils. But I don’t care, because it was awesome!
They started out by putting a basket of hot boiled peanuts on the table…they had me there. The seafood platter came out quickly and was piping hot and cooked to perfection. Yes, it was fried but it was not greasy. Every bite had a nice crunch, just the way I like it.
If you are not inclined to eat fried you can get grilled platters. Everything was fresh and delicious!!
As to price, it was up there with the higher end Restaurants around Shem Creek, but again the food is was worth it in my humble opinion.
