City of Charleston breaks ground on the new Ashley River Crossing Bridge

This week, federal, state, county and city officials joined Mayor Tecklenburg to break ground on the Ashley River Crossing, a standalone bridge that will provide a safe connection for bicyclists and pedestrians traveling across the Ashley River.

This is a big step toward continuing our commitment to the safety and security of our pedestrians and bikers.
