If she wasn’t guilty why would she say she’s meeting the devil?
Also – there was a man who did not sleep in the bed because he felt something was wrong and then hit John when he came into the room s as me took off on his horse to get the authorities.
Also – she gave them Oleander tea which killed them most of the time. If it didn’t John finished them.

Enjoyed your story. I’ve always been fascinated with Lavinia. One tour guide said she was buried at the Unitarian Church because nobody else would have her.

I’ve never heard a reference to the burial place of John. Since he became a Christian I wonder if that negated the issues the churches had with burying Lavinia. Curious that they weren’t buried together.

  • I enjoyed your story and have heard it all of my life as I was born and live in Charleston, SOUTH CAROLINA. The story I heard was that the mattress in the bedroom flipped dumping the guests into the cellar on spikes that killed them. As you enter Magnolia Cemetery, you state you are in Charleston, West Virginia. Could you please edit your video and get this error corrected to state South Carolina?

I have taken the horse buggy tour that told of the Fischer’s one thing he didn’t completely finish is she did come to the gallos in her wedding dress cause in those days a married woman couldn’t be hanged so she was very beautiful thought one of the men would marry her, saving her life. But, of course, no man wanted to marry her which made her mad. Also, people have seen her spirit walking up and down that prison in her dress.
