Oscar Mayer will pay you $35,000 a year—plus health benefits, free hotel stays, and a weekly allowance—to drive the Weinermobile around the country – Applications open til Jan 31.
Oscar Mayer is looking for Weinermobile drivers . You’ve got until Jan. 31 to apply and the job pays $35,600 per year.
Looking to beef up your resume? Need something that will make every potential employer stop and say “Wait. What?!?” Your moment is here.
Oscar Mayer has opened up applications for new drivers for its iconic Weinermobile . If you’ve dreamed of driving a 27-foot-long hot dog up and down the roads of America, you’ve got until Jan. 31 to apply for the job.
It’s a paid gig, too! Hotdoggers, as the drivers are called, earn a base salary of $35,600 as well as a weekly allowance of $150 for meals and personal travel. They also get 18 days of paid time off, full health benefits and (naturally) 100% of all of their hotel expenses covered.
Think you can cut the mustard and stand above the competition? Here’s what you’ll need to be considered for the job. ( You can apply here .)
You’ll need a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising, or marketing. It helps to be bilingual. And introverts need not apply.
You’ll also need a driver’s license (duh) and be able to work major holidays. And you’ll need to clear a background check.
Not only will you drive the iconic vehicle all over the country, you’ll represent Oscar Meyer at more than 200 events throughout the year. That will involve handing out more than 250,000 Wiener Whistles to fans.
Just be warned: A a lot of people relish this job. Less than 1% of applicants are selected for the 12 openings. Oscar Mayer says that makes it harder to become a Hotdogger than it is to get into an Ivy League university.
This will be the 38 th round of Hotdoggers. The Wienermobile has been traveling the U.S. since 1936.

I am interested in the job but I do not have a degree. I do have a high school education. I was a meat cutter for 45 years for FAREWAY Stores Inc. in Iowa. I managed a market in two different towns and retired in 2019. I purchased thousands of dollars of your product over those 45 years. I was a market manager for 29 years in those two locations. I do not understand what a college degree has to do with doing this job. I also had an uncle that worked in one of your plants in California which we toured on our honeymoon in 1977. Please consider me for this position. Thank you for your time.
My hubby is retired. I’m disabled.

The perfect job for us. My husband just completed being the mayor of our small town (5years) and we are personality plus. We also owned a catering company for 20 years until COVID forced us to close. And we travel with a full sized truck pulling a 23″ travel trailer. Our goal for retirement is seeing all 50 states. We are ready when ever you are!
We are a retired couple. She has a Masters Degree and I have a High School Diploma, with a long career in technology sales. We both love to travel and meet new people! Hope to hear from you.
It’s unfortunate not having a degree rules out a young 52 year old healthy veteran who went in young and more than capable of traveling doing this for a year. It’s not much pay for one who does have that degree to stop and do this in life than build their career. How sad that is!
I’m a retired teacher, and now I am a tutor and MERCHANDISER! I would be honored to be a Hotdogger!

My name is Mahaley Cole. I’m a college student online, and I feel like this would give me the opportunity to not only travel and find opportunities for the future; but also help me pay for my college. College has been a big expense. I’m going to college for business, and I have also went to a tech center with certifications in digital marketing and business management. I have always dreamed of going and seeing new places, and meeting many amazing people along the way. I have experience driving large vehicles, and pulling large livestock trailers. I am in the process of getting my CDL. Thank you for reading this application as this would be an incredible opportunity.

I’m retired US military and love classic cars. I have several babies to pamper. Driving that one would be a joy. Yes, I have two Masters if that’s a requirement. Several years ago, I saw one of these icons near Travis AFB and HAD to stop and admire it. There was a reporter there with a photographer and I found myself in the local paper (Fairfield, CA). How ironic that fate is speaking to me again! I’ve traveled all over the country from base to base and did many overseas tours. I’m multi-lingual and my wife is a Filipina. I would really enjoy traveling and driving that precious American icon around… makes me smile just thinking about it… and what a great way to show her our great country! 😁😁
