
The Morris Island Lighthouse will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a community celebration at Bowen’s Island on Sunday, October 18, 2026, bringing together food, art and Lowcountry history for an afternoon honoring one of the region’s iconic landmarks.
Doors open at 2 p.m. Guests will enjoy a traditional Lowcountry Boil, barbecue, sides, wine, beer and soft drinks, along with fun freebies and commemorative keepsakes.
The celebration will also unveil the 150th Anniversary Art Contest gallery, featuring entries from artists of all ages. Winners in the adult and children’s divisions will be announced, while guests can participate in the People’s Choice Contest and vote for their favorite submission.
