Montage of Haas & Peale Photographs of Charleston, SC 1863

This is a beautiful montage of life in Charleston, SC during the Civil War era circa 1863.

The cover photo is Fort Sumter.

Obviously, I could not personally take you with me on this adventure…but through historical photographs taken by Haas & Peale on Morris and Folly Island in 1863…we go there!

Morris Island was the reallocation Battery Wagner featured in the movie “Glory”.

These images are from original glass plate photographs from the Library of Congress.
