Charleston, South Carolina ranks as 8th best midsized metro for Millennials in the U.S.
CommercialCafe just published a new study ranking the most attractive metro areas for Millennials – the largest working-age population in the U.S. I believe this could be a useful resource for you.
This analysis highlights the performances of the 10 best large and midsized metros across a total of seven select indexes – including millennial demographics, median earnings, educational attainment, health insurance coverage, cost of living (regional price parity), and unemployment rate.
Here are some of the key highlights:
- Charleston ranked as the 8th-best midsized metro for Millennials.
- At 22.5%, the South Carolina metro had the largest percentage of Millennials within its total population among midsized metros analyzed with 177,764 individuals in this age group calling the port city home.
- 42% of Millennials in Charleston hold a bachelor’s degree or higher making the metro rank 6th for this indicator among the top 10.
- The metro also came in 5th among the top 10 for its unemployment rate of 2.5%.
- Overall, Des Moines tops the list, followed by Madison and Ogden–Clearfield.
