Ruby Sunshine is owned and operated through the Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group, the collective behind the acclaimed New Orleans-based eatery Ruby Slipper Café. Ruby Sunshine in Charleston is part of its larger expansion across the Southeast region, which includes locations in Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, and soon South Carolina.

“We’re excited to bring our Big Easy inspired brunch to the Low Country” said Peter Gaudreau, CEO of Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group. “Charleston is a natural next step for our expansion, and we think the City captures that sense of New Orleans hospitality and southern charm that Ruby Sunshine is all about” added Gaudreau. Ruby Sunshine will offer a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant will feature indoor seating for approximately 170guests, in addition to a vibrant outdoor enclosed patio area for up to ~30guests. The restaurant will uphold the charm and inviting atmosphere that the previous concept, Blossom’s restaurant maintained over the past two decades.

In addition to welcoming guests, Ruby Sunshine is excited to offer job opportunities to a local team or Krewe of enthusiastic managers, bartenders, servers, bussers, cooks, and dish techs. Job openings will be listed on the Ruby Sunshine website soon.

Inspired by the powerful sense of homecoming they felt after returning to New Orleans post-Hurricane Katrina, the husband and wife team, Jennifer & Erich Weishauptopened the original Ruby Slipper Café to draw people back to their mid-City New Orleans neighborhood. Born from that cozy storefront in 2008, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group has grown to operate 11Ruby Slipper Café locations across the Gulf Region and continues to expand throughout the Southeast with Ruby Sunshine, providing new audiences with the unique flavors and hospitality that Ruby Slipper Café is known and loved for.
