Today, we are proud to announce that Scout can officially call Columbia, South Carolina home to our first production facility.
This decision is a massive milestone for our company, our community, and America, and one that we couldn’t be happier to share with the Scout community.
This decision solidifies a $2B investment in US manufacturing, the creation of 4,000 or more permanent jobs, and the potential to produce 200,000 or more Scouts annually when operating at full capacity.
What began in the 1960s as an idea for an all-purpose truck evolved into what we now recognize as the earliest sport utility vehicle. It was the very first Scout. The Scout could handle the hardest farm work and the toughest trails, but also serve as a comfortable daily driver. These are the features and capabilities that have defined the SUV ever since. Today, we are closer than ever to putting an important American icon on the road.
This announcement is momentous for Scout Motors, but also for America, and we couldn’t be prouder to join the charge to revitalize American manufacturing.
