Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art – Several community events planned – Saturday, October 26, 2024
This October, The Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art will celebrate its 40th anniversary. For the last forty years, The Halsey has been a beacon in the Charleston community, bringing light to the historical, social and cultural importance of the art of our time.
To celebrate this momentous milestone, The Halsey will host a 40th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 26. Festivities will include:
- A free, community-driven parade (beginning at 1 p.m.) within the College of Charleston’s campus; parade route map can be found HERE
- A ticketed event in the college’s historic Cistern Yard, featuring an interactive art banner installation created by previous and upcoming Halsey exhibitionists and local Charleston artists.
- Guests can purchase these one-of-a-kind creations for a flat price of $250, but won’t know the artist’s identity until after the event concludes!
The ticketed portion of the event (originally priced at $75 for not-yet members and $50 for current Halsey members) is being offered at a $15 early bird discount when purchased before August 31. Tickets for both members and not-yet members are available for purchase HERE.
