Two Great Shows This June from Footlight Players: ‘Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche’ and ‘Decade of Decadence’ – Tix on sale now!
CHARLESTON, SC, (June 3, 2024) – Self-producing their own Summer Theatre Series during this year’s annual Spoleto/Piccolo festivals period, Footlight Players continues into week two with the revival of the Charleston cult classic comedy Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche June 4 – 7 and their Decade of Decadence 80s cabaret concert closing out the weekend June 8 & 9.
The subversive and charmingly hysterical interactive Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche sees the audience sitting on stage with the ladysisters of Susan B Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein at their ‘atomic’ 1956 quiche breakfast. When a nuclear attack disrupts their event, all hell breaks loose and secrets and hilarious innuendo come to the surface. This will be the sixth time the show has been produced in Charleston by Footlight’s Kyle Barnette and Brian Porter, who first debuted the show in 2012, eventually transferring the show to the Queen Street Playhouse last summer.
Rounding out the week will be the totally awesome Decade of Decadence concert, a costume encouraged 80s live music performance event on the QSP stage. Misha Pekar leads a live band as six of Charleston’s most exciting vocalist take the stage for a 90 minute set of some of your favorite 80s classics.
