nextOPP Search Founders Named to Entrepreneur’s 100 Women of Influence

Gail Tiburzi Buck and Rebecca Oppenheim Honored with Leadership Recognition for Hire One, Help One Program

Charleston, SC –  Gail Tiburzi Buck and Rebecca Oppenheim, founders of leading executive search firm and Certified B Corporation, nextOPP Search, were recently recognized as part of Entrepreneur’s 100 Women of Influence in 2022. The recognition seeks to elevate women changing their respective industries by influencing the world in real and concrete ways.

Buck and Oppenheim were honored for their commitment to supporting women working towards financial security through their Hire One, Help One program. For every candidate hired through its firm, nextOPP donates career coaching services to a survivor of domestic violence.

“The most rewarding part of growing our recruiting firm has been seeing the number of people we’re able to support through our Hire One, Help One program,” said nextOPP co-founder Gail Tiburzi Buck. “As our business expands, so does our ability to help domestic violence victims secure their financial independence. We’re honored to be recognized alongside women who are using their brilliance and innovation to make our world a better place and grateful to Entrepreneur Magazine for providing us an invaluable opportunity to help raise domestic violence awareness, an issue that still lives in the shadows.”

Domestic violence affects millions of individuals across the US regardless of age, economic status, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, ability, or education level. Financial abuse, limiting a partner’s access to economic resources, affects 99 percent of domestic violence victims and 74 percent stay in abusive relationships longer because of financial concerns. One in four women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime and survivors on average leave abusive relationships with $10 in their pocket.

“The data around this type of abuse is staggering,” noted nextOPP co-founder Rebecca Oppenheim. “When we were forming our business, we knew we wanted to find a way to give back to this cause. The Hire One, Help One program is purposely embedded into the DNA of our business, and companies that work with us know that they’re not only helping to grow their own organizations but also investing in a sustainable program that empowers independence.”

The Hire One, Help One program was developed in 2018, redefining nextOPP Search as a for-profit for purpose company. By partnering with domestic violence support organizations, nextOne Search is able to offer career coaching to victims and teach essential career skills, including identifying job opportunities, resume development, interviewing best practices, and salary negotiations. The guidance they provide assists individuals affected by financial abuse who need to secure employment to become financially independent.
