New restricted parking Rules in effect for Folly Beach to control crowds due to COVID-19 surge
For those planning a trip to Folly Beach, please know that effective immediately, there are new parking restrictions in place
- No parking on side streets
- Only Paid Lots and Arctic Avenue parking available
- The only cars allowed in city public right of way areas are residents, those with disability decals, or renters who are in spots adjacent to their rented property.
- The city is also increasing the fine for parking illegally to $150 per violation.
The decision on Thursday by the city council was focused on controlling crowds during the COVID-19 surge. A digital sign reminder has been placed at the beginning of Center Street as you enter Folly Beach.
