#Race4Wanza Doughnut Dash 5k (April 26, 2025)- Scholarship Fundraiser in honor of AME victim TyWanza Sanders
April 26, 2025 is a special day for the Charleston and James Island Community. It is the annual #Race4Wanza Doughnut Dash 5k remembering the life of the youngest victim of the 2015 Mother Emanuel Shooting Tywanza Sanders. Each year, his spirit lives on as youth and adults come together to raise money for scholarships for the next generation of leaders. This is a truly spirited event (involving running and doughnuts!).

About the Doughnut Dash
This event is more than just a race—it’s a tribute to our dear friend TyWanza Sanders and his lasting legacy. Through this event, we are proud to award $6,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in Charleston, SC; over $25,000 awarded since the event’s inception.
Tywanza, a man with a philanthropic spirit and a commitment to the achievement of youth in his community and beyond, was the youngest victim of the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church Massacre.
