Signs of King Street (Charleston, South Carolina)

With a tapestry of locals, students, tourists and collectors strolling the streets, this stretch of Charleston has become a foundation in the landscape of this historic city.
A tradition that has shot out of this colorful street is Second Sunday, a monthly street festival where the road is closed to car and bicycle traffic, and it becomes an outdoor celebration of music, dining, shopping and community gathering. I have not lived in Charleston since Medical School graduation in 1969, but I still smile when I see my several Berlin’s wooden hangers in the closet. Born there and it will always be home, no matter where I live.
