The latest Bureau of Labor Statistics released its September unemployment data.
- For month over month improvement from August to September, South Carolina had the 12th best reduction from 6.4% to 5.1%
- Overall, South Carolina is ranked 7th lowest unemployment rate at 5.1%
- The national unemployment rate is 7.9% putting South Carolina 2.8% or 35% below the national average
